Wood Duck fine art photograph. Wildlife photography of a gorgeous, wild male Wood Duck (Aix sponsa) sporting his courting colors as he swims through the reflective ripples of a waterway in Butte County, California.

Wood Ducks are extremely flighty in the wild so it's often difficult to get close enough to capture their image without spooking them into flight. Using the cover of tall water reeds, I was able to creep into position without being seen.
