Description
Storm clouds roll over Mount Rainier as I look on from Crystal Peak. An ominous thunderstorm rumbles in the distance as I make my final ascent up the last of the switchbacks to the peak of the mountain. Beautiful light is painted along the mountain and river as the sun peaks through the darkening sky, illuminating Mount Rainier in the distance. It is peak wildflower season in the park and beautiful pops of red, purple, yellow, and white flowers are scattered about the trail. Immediately upon making it to the top of the mountain, the storm breaks over my head, causing me to seek shelter behind a large boulder until it has passed.
