Photographer Wins Award

Award-winning conservation photographer and ShutterLove contributor Art Wolfe recently chose the winners of Chapter 1 of The Compelling Image Photography Contest. The theme for the worldwide contest, which was presented by ShutterLove and sponsored by B&H, was “Edge of the Earth, Corner of the Sky.” Photographers submitted landscapes, seascapes and images of the natural world, which were judged by Wolfe. The Grand Prize was awarded to Paul Letherbury for a beautiful shot of a lightening storm in the Grand Canyon, and first runner-up honors went to Werner Priller for a captivating photograph of star trails over Italy’s Dolomite Mountains (pictured above). Fine Art America contributing photographer Stuart L. Gordon was one of 8 other photographers to receive honorable mention.
